First, I pinged Sandy’s post and yay it worked! (for this one I just linked to her blog since I didn’t want to spam her with pings)
Then I tried trackbacks to and from my blogger blog with no result. So after reading I find they don’t use/support trackbacks. They do have backlinks which if I enable it I should see trackbacks or pings….which I didn’t.
After more reading you can sign up for HaloScan and it will use it’s comments/trackback thing and they have a way to automatically add it to your blogger template. Which I did. I then reposted my posts going both directions and I have half success. It didn’t work using my post permalink but HaloScan adds a trackback link that goes through them and that one worked! My blogger blog now has a trackback from Sliloh’s Rambles!
HaloScan also has a way on their page to manually add a ping or trackback. Which I tried from Blogger to Sliloh’s Rambles and I got this message:
Problem: Target doesn’t appear to be a valid trackback URL (debug information below).
This was the target URL: http://www.sliloh.com/blog/web-stuff/a-test-of-flash/
The debug information is basically the entire template (it looks like) so I have no idea why I can’t send it that direction. I wonder if it’s because my site is new and/or the registration isn’t switched yet. They did tell me it might take 1-2 weeks. It was easy to forget that when I uploaded my site, then uploaded my blog and everything worked just peachy 
So no clue on this one but I’m pleased that overall I figured this out.
Edit to add: adding that link here added a ping thing to the post, what if I don’t want that?
Nice theme, Sliloh… I’ll have to come back and read this when I understand better what all you’ve said and done. I’m still looking for that theme.
