I love abstracts, too. They make beautiful backgrounds and interesting headings for web sites. Nice work!

  2. Excellent idea, Viki! I love abstracts too–the ones filled with visual textures and good composition. Until I saw Pat Dew’s book and video I didn’t realize it was something I could do. There are many abstracts out there that don’t appeal to me.

Is this one a Bryce creation then Anita? It looks almost as if it came from a fractal algorithm. (I have no idea how to do them, but I’ve seen some gorgeous work online.) This one’s a beauty — much to see as I continue to look.

I agree with Kandinsky completely. It IS difficult to do without mental poetry. And so often viewers want to assign meaning — me included. I have be be aware of that tendency, so I don’t do it. A beautiful abstract is just to enjoy without labeling.

Thanks for the lovely comments regarding the paintings on my blog, Alice. smile

Thank you Viki and Barb. I see all kinds of things in abstracts, the color and flow talks to me ;)

I love that abstract! Great colors. You really do amazing work with those….mine are always OK…but never spectacular.

Love the new heading and look. Easy to read. Nicely done!

  5. Having working in many mediums before doing now mostly digital creations, I find them all interesting and enjoyable and all a different and enriching experience. If you haven’t tried live painting yet, for sure do it. Although we may not see you on line for a while. :-) I have referred to myself as a Media Don Juana because I can’t stick with just one. But now I’m in the black hole of blogging so God knows when I will be able to emerge from that to get back to hands on tactile play.

Thanks Donna and Adele. I must admit ever since I saw the oils my friend was painting I’ve wanted to give that a try. But oh, the expense!

Hi. Your post uty of abstract art | Sliloh’s Rambles is very interesting for me. My written English is not so good so I write in German: “Lieber den Spatz in der Hand, als die Taube auf dem Dach.” Yours sincerely Thursday Bryce
