I don’t really “get” Occupy Wall Street. I agree there is massive corruption in this country, from Wall street, bankers, unions, big corporations and most of all our government. I’m as disgusted with it as they are. There are people who should have been put on trial rather than bailed out. Whose fault is that? Our government. So why are we not protesting them? Demanding that these people face charges for their crimes? If that’s not what they are asking, what exactly are they asking? I mean what is it meant to accomplish? Will Wall street just give up and come outside and throw their millions to the crowd? I don’t see how this movement is going to enact any change. Get a few million together with a lawyer and maybe they will make some progress. I think either that or you are gonna have to give up the signs for guns.

There will always be greedy people, but if the wealthy got that way legally, while I might despise them for their miserly ways, hey, it’s their money. They certainly don’t owe it to me. It’s our government who got us into this financial mess, bailing out criminals, giving our money away hand over fist. I believe in a free market. That means you make it or you lose it through your own actions. There is no such thing as too big to fail. Look at America, we are failing big time. I don’t believe that the wealthy need to take care of me. Ever read “Atlas Shrugged”? It might be in their best interest to if they are Christians (“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” (Mk. 10:25)), but whatever, that’s between them and God.

It’s really pretty scary seeing who exactly supports Occupy Wall Street. I don’t want to live in a socialist society. I don’t believe we have a God-given right to be taken care of. I believe that sometimes bad shit happens to people and the world is never going to be fair. I’m sick of political correctness. I’m sick of government officials who are bought by special interests groups. The government I knew was “by the people, for the people”. This is what we have controlling our country now:

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected the promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world-government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the National autodetermination practiced in past centuries.– David Rockefeller in an address to a Trilateral Commission meeting in June of 1991″

The idea of being run by “intellectual elite and world bankers” is terrifying. Of course so is the idea of being run by the idiots we have running things now. I cannot call them any kind of “intellectual elite”, look at the mess they’ve made of things.

While I’m at it, I’m sick of “Left” and “Right” and “Liberal” and “Conservative” and the vitriol and really amazing hatred aimed at any of them from the other. Especially when both sides are as bad as the other in how they see fit to run my country. Let’s just ditch the damn labels for a change. I’m sick of being called an idiot, sheeple, and however other many nasty names people come up with for believing in what I do. With that kind of unbending attitude you think I would want you or anyone you might vote for ruling me?

I believe in some conservative ideas. I believe in some liberal ideas. I believe in respecting others and their ideas whether I agree with them or not. I believe mostly in our constitution and mourn the loss of it. I am not the 1%; nor am I the 99%. Does that make me irrelevant?

I want to move.

I think I should be in a more country setting where I don’t have such close neighbors. If they are obnoxious and live a mile away that’s a lot better than obnoxious and one foot away. I live a quiet life here I just don’t understand the shit that people keep doing to me. Okay, I can understand stealing my downspouts off my garage, that was about greed and money. I don’t understand the throwing eggs, bricks, rocks and various other crap into my yard and garden. I don’t understand throwing your chewed up gum on my front porch where I step on it. I don’t understand kicking my back gate in and breaking the boards. It’s not like it locks and is keeping you out of my yard. I’m tired of picking your litter up in my front yard and alley. Christ, in the alley you have any number of dumpsters to throw your crap in, feel free to use mine.

I’m tired of the rudeness about noise, for fuck sake you have neighbors all around you just a few feet away. Why is there no common courtesy around here?

I’m depressed. I live like a freaking hermit, so there’s no good stuff, just the bad crap. I walked away from a house I loved once, I guess I could walk away from this one. It’s a shame that being poor means I need to live next to lowlifes. Here’s a clue you assholes, you can be poor and still live a life with integrity and respect for yourself and others.

Sometimes I wish I’d bought that gun but then I’d only get in trouble threatening assholes with it probably. Maybe a ten foot stone wall around my entire property with barbed wire on top……heh

Next time I look for one of these:

The Awesome Dachshund

The name “dachshund” is of German origin and literally means “badger dog”, from Dachs (“badger”) and Hund (“dog”). Dachshunds have been kept by royal courts all over Europe, including that of Queen Victoria, who was particularly enamored of the breed.[47] They were originally bred for hunting badgers by trailing scent.

The first verifiable references to the dachshund, originally named the “Dachs Kriecher” (“badger crawler”) or “Dachs Krieger” (“badger warrior”), came from books written in the early 18th century.[48] Prior to that, there exist references to “badger dogs” and “hole dogs”, but these likely refer to purposes rather than to specific breeds. The original German dachshunds were larger than the modern full-size variety, weighing between 30 and 40 lb (14 and 18 kg), and originally came in straight-legged and crook-legged varieties (the modern dachshund is descended from the latter). Though the breed is famous for its use in exterminating badgers and badger-baiting, dachshunds were also commonly used for rabbit and fox hunting, for locating wounded deer, and in packs were known to hunt game as large as wild boar and as fierce as the wolverine.

There are huge differences of opinion as to when dachshunds were specifically bred for their purpose of badger hunting, as the American Kennel Club states the dachshund was bred in the 15th century, while the Dachshund Club of America states that foresters bred the dogs in the 18th or 19th century ~.wikipedia.org

Wooden furniture. That might be from growing up with absolute crap. I used cardboard boxes for shelves.

Paper. All kinds of paper, journals, pens and markers. Even though physical writing is excruciating for me and my penmanship is illegible.

Books, but that’s not inexplicable. That would make bookshelves to die for

Globes and Maps. John is collecting maps for his future walk to Kaido. He wrote: “One traveler/photographer recommends getting hold of various local tourist maps, though even those don’t always capture more-recent road re-routing, landmark leveling, detours. Still, as tanaka1 points out, they are often fun and colorful.” You have no idea how cool those local maps are! I had quite a collection from all over the country but somewhere along the way I seem to have lost them all.

My youngest daughter has inherited all those likes from me. We drool over the bookshelves and she even got a globe of the moon finally!

Here’s some different kinds of map fun, compliments of google.

On a last note, Zemanta gave me lots of pictures of cardboard boxes to add to this post! lol

And…!! “Mapping the Average Penis Size Worldwide” Awesome. You’ll have to Google that for yourself, I’m not putting a link.
