I thought that was fascinating because in my youth the prevailing view was how much we were influenced by environment/nurture as opposed to what was in those genes. I can tell my my own kids and even by all the cats that I have had, that we are born with certain "stuff." So you are right, one day they will figure out how to remedy lots of things that are mysterious to us today - not to mention, painful.
