It’s not here yet, at least where I live, but I’m so ready.

And summer:

Neurosis: Any of various mental or emotional disorders, such as hypochondria or neurasthenia, arising from no apparent organic lesion or change and involving symptoms such as insecurity, anxiety, depression, and irrational fears, but without psychotic symptoms such as delusions or hallucinations.

Neurotic: Beemer.

Beemer used to be so independent. Affectionate, but independent. He loved hanging out with Baby. I guess part of it was Lis picking up the slack. No, I won’t let him sleep on my head, or anywhere near my face for that matter.

Now he is just on me all the time. It’s like having a clinging baby all over again, well, without the diapers I have no idea what is going on, he’s so needy. He sits on me and keeps creeping closer to my face, reaches out to pat me (which doesn’t go over too big since he has never learned to retract his claws). I go to the bathroom, he follows, I go to the kitchen, he follows, I go to bed, he follows. First I have to some how get out from under him though. He’s driving me crazy!

And then there’s poor baby. Beemer used to just take care of him, because Baby was, well, a baby. Now the only time he even acknowledges him is either when he wants to fight or erm…breed. Here’s the thing, Beemer has been fixed for years but doesn’t seem to know it. Not to mention that Baby is also a male. So when he isn’t on me, I’m having to constantly threaten him with loss of life if he doesn’t leave Baby alone. I do love him but I’m ready for a cat-free vacation.

Girls, don’t expect me to be a tolerant granny to your lil babies. I did my job and I am afraid I may be more inclined to act like Helga the horrible. No more dealing with clinging, fighting, crying creatures, I clearly have no patience or compassion left for that.

And don’t even be thinking of laughing…I’m serious!

The International Space Station (ISS) is an internationally developed research facility that is being assembled in low Earth orbit. On-orbit construction of the station began in 1998 and is scheduled for completion by 2011. The station is expected to remain in operation until at least 2015, and likely 2020. With a greater mass than that of any previous space station, the ISS can be seen from the Earth with the naked eye, and, as of 2010, is the largest artificial satellite orbiting the Earth. The ISS serves as a research laboratory that has a microgravity environment in which crews conduct experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy and meteorology. The station has a unique environment for the testing of the spacecraft systems that will be required for missions to the Moon and Mars. The ISS is operated by Expedition crews, and has been continuously staffed since 2 November 2000, meaning the ISS program has maintained an uninterrupted human presence in space for the past 9 years and 140 days, which is approaching the current record, set aboard Mir, of 9 years and 257 days.
