Is not making any bloody money. I was told I was charging too much, more than those “expert” and “professional” coders. Funny the one job I got beat out of had 807 errors! I originally said 121 errors, but that was just on the front page. And the guy gave him a 5 star rating. I mocked up a site for him and my validated perfectly.

So yesterday another gave me a hard time, even though I bid lower than the only other bidder.  So then he asked me if I knew how to fix a couple boxes on his website (to prove myself, I guess)  that the professional had all mucked up. So I did, and I let him know he had 33 validation errors just on his front page.  But I’m apparently not a professional because I have yet to get my first job through Elance. I do have a portfolio up on there but sloppy coders are getting all the jobs.

I recently bid on a job at Elance. That guy was the only one who has even contacted me (I guess that’s progress). He hired someone else but since I have nothing better to do and I figure it’s good practice, I remade his site (on my server). I went and made sure it validated and then I got the brilliant idea to see if the other guy’s did.

My Result: Passed

His Result: 121 Errors, 3 warning(s)

Nice huh? Not to mention he made his page with tables and most of his errors are from all that inline styling. At least he could have put it in the css. Don’t use bloody tables for layout!. That is so obsolete, yet there he is with the paid job and here I am jacking around.

I took Actifed for something like 30 years. A lot of actifed. I have allergies year-round. Then suddenly I couldn’t find it anymore in my state. When visiting NYC I bought several packages, but they didn’t seem to be working. Then I ordered several more from drugstore.com and they weren’t either! Wth? Same original packaging, nothing anywhere said they’d changed it. I only discovered that after lots of googling. So I bought Sudafed for a while. Then bam, that disappeared too. Along with a whole slew of others I tried that didn’t work anyway.

In my state now all the allergy meds are kept behind the pharmacy counter, they scan your driver’s license and make you sign for them, so obviously they can keep track of the quantity you are buying. So why pray tell can’t they sell ones with those nasty forbidden ingredients? Better to take the recommended dosage of a good one than overdosing myself with the worthless ones like I’ve been doing. Well, 1000′s of sneezes later I googled “original actifed” and discovered I could order it online from a Canadian pharmacy. They still limit quantities, they still require a copy of my driver’s license, but hey, I already do that for the worthless drugs so that’s not a problem! Last night for the first time in years I took an Actifed. What a blessed bloody relief!

With all that’s still on the news about meth labs being discovered I have to wonder how successful this stupid campaign has been. They seem to get their hands on the stuff they need just fine. Maybe I should go hook up with one and ask them what the trick is
